I went for dinner at Mainland China, Whitefield viz a multi-course fine dining restaurant with attention to details. Apart from food, restaurant ambiance & food, Vishal Kharpade (supervisor) & Sujay Mandal (server) were the 2 gems of this place with the clear passion to what they do with in-depth knowledge & attitude to serve the best-in-class experience.
The whole experience was great due to the attention to details at the place, attitude to serve best-in-class experience & quality-of-taste with constant innovation around the food. I was very lucky to try their new upcoming menu. It was indeed a pleasure & charm to be there. The cocktails & mocktails at Mainland China for the options they serve are great. The content is very rich, taste is phenomenal as well as presentation due to attention to details. I & with my friends tasted Watermelon & basil caipiroshka, Lemongrass mandarin, Basil mojito (5* to it, very rich in taste compared to usual mojito) & Nutty irish vodkatini which was another hidden gem. Corn & Water chestnut Dumpling were great & liked by everyone, though Edamame Dumpling with Truffle Oil was rich in content, the mash potato taste overtook the soybean & truffle oil taste in it which surely needs a relook.
I heard high for Thai Style chicken dumpling & Chicken Sui Mai with Straw Mushroom from my friends. Crispy lotus stem with curry leaves and Black pepper as well as Corn chilli pepper with kafir lime salt were just great in taste & caught us in surprise. These were definitely different than the usuals. Truffle Oil Flavoured Zucchini Roll needs better outer later or needs to be little more deep fried as it was giving a bit raw taste. Amongst the non-veg options, Smoked Duck Roll, Chicken With Assorted Pepper, Dynamite Prawns (see the video of it on Instagram handle listed below) & Pan-fried Asian Chilli Fish were good too as I heard from my friends (me being a vegetarian). The soup Tom Yom Soup Veg & its Chicken variant weren’t relished by most of the folks so something to be relooked at.
Steamed Chinese Greens and Tofu in Mild Ginger Sauce was very good along with the combination of Vegetables and edamame fried rice. Lemongrass vegetable in fresh cilantro sauce was average in taste even though it was rich in vegetables. The chef should experiment it with a different base than green probably was the common feedback across. Japanese wheat noodles were good & the composition makes it quite healthy. Highly recommended for health-conscious folks out there. Chocolate dome with warm chocolate sauce (check out the video on Instagram mentioned below) was finger licking & very rich in taste. Small suggestion: Direction board with floor details & restaurant timing can surely help on the ground floor. Sorry if it is already there & I missed it.
Overall the place with its amazing ambiance, attention to details & larger than life experience with the combination of the great staff made it an experience. Cheers. #mainlandchinablr #mainlandchinaindia #mainlandchina
